As an amateur photographer one of the things that I like to take are photos of runway fashion shows. It will test your skills as a photographer because there are so many things that you cannot control. Unlike taking photos of still subjects, you can easily configure your camera to the desired setting and you can also take as many photos of the same subject in different angles. But with fashion shows, everything the models are moving and this will not give you time to change settings and there are no second chances in case you missed a nice angle.
If you are into runway photography it is important that you have already mastered the settings of your camera especially if you are using a DSLR. Even if you are only given with the aperture and shutter values, you already know that the picture will look good or not even without looking at the preview button.
Based on my experience, the first set or segment of each fashion show is always an experiment. This is the time that you try to analyze the environment that you are in and find the appropriate setting for that particular event. Once you have it everything will be a breeze.

This Korean male model is so skinny. I can see his ribs even from afar. Love this look perfect for tropical countries like the Philippines. |

From this view, he could be mistaken as a girl. |
