Every time I travel I arm myself with different cameras. I bring with me a DSLR, a point and shoot camera, and a cameraphone.
My DSLR camera has zoom lens, it immediately begins at the 40mm range. It is very useful in taking subjects which are quite far. However it makes it difficult to take photos if you are very near the subject. A possible solution to this dilemma is to buy a new lens, but lenses are quite expensive and heavy too. A better alternative would be a point and shoot camera. It is handy and can also take good photos too. My cellphone camera is just a backup in case the batteries of your cameras got drained.
When I travel I make it a point to take night photos. I dunno, but there's something with the lights which make places look more beautiful at night. It seems that everything is just so perfect.
Taking these night photos would not be possible without the use of a TRIPOD. When taking pictures in low light you need a very slow shutter speed and this makes the camera very sensitive to movement and might lead to blurry pictures. So to capture good night photos, use the tripod and set it to timer mode. I also use the tripod to take pictures of myself. Hahaha. I just have to make sure that there are not so many people around me.

ReplyDeleteThanks Julie!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful night shots! On the last trip, I carried my DSLR, but decided not to carry my point & shoot since phone cameras are "almost" as good as point & shoots. Thank you for visiting & commenting on my blog. I hope you enjoy Taiwan and I look forward to seeing pictures from your trip.
